I had the privilege this week of joining a great group of people heading down to Baja Mexico to build a house for a family who was in great need, and it was a life changing experience.
It was a truly humbling experience and made me think about what's really important in life. In the United States there's a huge push on acquiring things, wealth, and a big focus on me, me me.
What I saw down there was a viewpoint that focuses on people and relationships, and I think it's easier to do that when there isn't as many material things around. If anything the best way to look at it for me is to start training myself to focus more on people in my life and not worry so much about the other things of life, and realize we are very lucky to live in a place where we can drink tap water, and have anything we want at our fingertips.
Another great thing in Mexico is the food!!! Seriously the best tacos I've ever had, and there's some pretty cute puppies wandering around town as well.
All in all this trip changed my perspective and I'm greatful for the opportunity and experience. :)
